Appointment and Office Accommodations
If you need an accommodation for an appointment, please contact us before your visit when possible. We will also make reasonable efforts to respond to same-day requests.
Accommodations may include help with communication, accessible scheduling, assistance with forms, modified check-in procedures, extra time when appropriate, or reasonable changes to policies and procedures.
Accommodation requests are reviewed based on the patient’s needs, the dental service involved, patient safety, infection-control requirements, and applicable law.
Effective Communication
We will take appropriate steps to communicate effectively with patients and companions who have hearing, vision, speech, cognitive, manual, or other communication-related disabilities.
Auxiliary aids or services may include written notes, large-print materials, electronic communication, help reading or completing forms, qualified interpreters, video remote interpreting when effective, or other appropriate communication methods.
We do not charge patients for auxiliary aids or services required for effective communication.
Language Assistance
If you need language assistance, please contact us before your appointment when possible. When required by law, we will provide appropriate language assistance at no cost.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome in patient and public areas where they are allowed by law.
A service animal is generally a dog trained to perform work or tasks for a person with a disability. Emotional support, comfort, or therapy animals are not service animals under the ADA unless they are trained to perform disability-related work or tasks.
When it is not obvious what service the animal provides, staff may ask only:
- Whether the animal is required because of a disability; and
- What work or task the animal has been trained to perform.
We do not require service animal documentation, certification, registration, or demonstration of the task.
A service animal may be excluded only when allowed by law, such as if the animal is out of control, not housebroken, creates a direct threat, or would fundamentally alter the nature or safety of dental services.
No Retaliation
We will not retaliate against anyone for requesting an accommodation, reporting an accessibility concern, filing a complaint, or exercising rights under disability access laws.
Third-Party Content
Our website may link to third-party websites or tools we do not control. If a third-party feature is not accessible, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to help you obtain the information or service you need.
