Here is a look at some of our featured preventive services:
Digital X-rays with AI Technology: Digital X-rays capture high-resolution images, helping uncover early decay between teeth, tooth fractures, bone loss, abscesses, impacted teeth, and more. AI technology analyzes these images with incredible speed and accuracy, enhancing diagnostic precision and ensuring more effective treatment planning.
Dental Exams: During your routine dental exam, we will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, dental restorations, and alignment of your bite. Your twice-yearly exams help identify early signs of problems, such as tooth decay, gum disease, and infections. Early intervention helps prevent minor problems from progressing, helping you maintain a healthy smile.
Oral Cancer Screenings: Oral cancer can develop on the lips, tongue, cheeks, roof of the mouth, tonsils, and even the salivary glands. It is often undiagnosed until its advanced stages, posing a potentially life-threatening concern. Oral cancer screenings offer a quick and pain-free solution to identify early signs of oral cancer, ensuring the best possible treatment outcomes.
Dental Cleanings: Regular professional cleanings help remove plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth and along your gum line, helping lower the risk of bad breath, tooth decay, gum disease, and even tooth loss. If, however, you have gum disease, we may recommend a deep dental cleaning, a non-surgical procedure known as scaling and root planing. This involves an additional step of cleaning and smoothing your tooth root surfaces to promote healing and prevent the progression of your gum infection and inflammation.
Curodont Enamel Regeneration: We are pleased to introduce Curodont, an early cavity intervention treatment without drilling, staining, or trauma. The non-invasive, 5-minute procedure uses a proprietary peptide to naturally repair and rebuild the tooth enamel at the early signs of breakdown. Calcium, phosphate, and other minerals in the saliva help rebuild the tooth enamel to the depth of the decay, preventing early tooth decay from progressing.
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF): SDF offers a minimally invasive option to "arrest" cavities without anesthetic shots or drilling. Fluoride helps remineralize the tooth enamel and halt the progression of cavities, while silver eliminates cavity-causing bacteria and prevents the formation of biofilm. When SDF is applied to a decayed lesion, the antimicrobial and remineralizing solution helps stop its progression, prevents future decay, and decreases tooth sensitivity.
Dental Sealants: The permanent premolars and molars have grooves and crevices on their chewing surfaces that are hard to clean effectively, leaving them prone to decay. Dental sealants are thin coatings that smooth out these surfaces and shield them against cavity-causing bacteria and acids. Dental sealants are typically applied as soon as the first set of permanent molars comes in at around age six, and the second set erupts around age 12. It's important to note that while sealants are usually applied in childhood, they offer benefits for teens and adults, especially those prone to developing cavities.
Preventive Resin Restorations (PRR): Preventive Resin Restorations offer a minimally invasive solution to protect teeth from decay, especially in the grooves and pits on the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars. They are similar to sealants but involve removing early decay and placing a resin material before sealing the area. PRRs are conservative and durable, preserving more of your natural tooth structure while providing the longevity of traditional dental fillings.
